Privacy: your file is read only in this tab’s memory. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.

How it works

  1. You pick an MP3, WAV, or M4A. It stays in browser memory.
  2. You set start and end times (waveform helps you aim).
  3. Cutting runs locally (Web Audio and/or ffmpeg.wasm) — not on a server.
  4. You download the clip. Open DevTools → Network: you should see no media upload.

Not a YouTube ripper. Only files you already have on this device. Respect copyright and DRM. We do not fetch streams or accept remote URLs.

FAQ

Is my audio uploaded?

No. Cutting runs in your browser (planned: ffmpeg.wasm / Web Audio). Open DevTools → Network while you work: you should see no upload of the media file. Files never leave this device.

Which formats work?

MVP targets MP3, WAV, and M4A/AAC. Other containers may fail or be rejected with a clear message.

Can I make a phone ringtone?

Yes — trim a short clip (often under 30–40 seconds), download it, then add it via your phone’s ringtone or Files settings. We do not convert to proprietary ringtone formats in the MVP.

Is this a YouTube downloader?

No. LocalAudioCut only trims files you already have on your device. It is not a ripper, stream grabber, or YouTube/video download tool.

What about copyright?

You must own the rights or have permission to cut and use the audio. Do not use this tool to infringe copyright or circumvent DRM.

Is it free?

Yes. No account and no watermark in the MVP.
